This award is presented annually to an RC&D Program Assistant that exemplifies the spirit of the RC&D by “Making Things Happen” in their RC&D area.

Susan Creasy Chestatee-Chattahoochee RC&D Council, Georgia

Susan Creasy from Chestatee-Chattahoochee RC&D Council in Demorest, Georgia is this year’s outstanding program assistant. It is not an exaggeration to say that Susan is the foundation on which her Council stands. Her positive attitude, experience, expertise, and energy are inspiring, and the expert work that she does on the Council website has greatly advanced the Council’s outreach to its partners and community.

Her excellent work goes beyond her Council: she has voluntarily assumed the coordination of the statewide Georgia RC&D energy conservation grant; she serves on statewide training committees that are increasing the effectiveness of RC&D Councils; she helped organize an agri-tourism workshop that is now being developed into a statewide program; and last year she coordinated the efforts of all RC&D Councils in the Southestern Region to communicate effectively with their members of Congress in Washington, DC. Finally, she has been the glue that has held the Southeast Regional RC&D Association together; without her, it would not be as effective as it is.
