Outstanding Council Member

This award is presented annually to an RC&D council member that exemplifies the spirit of the RC&D by “Making Things Happen” in his/her council area.

Ed Miller, Glacierland RC&D Council

Ed joined Glacierland RC&D Council in September 1995, long before the Council was authorized in 2001. From his very first association with the Council, he has had a tremendous desire to see the Council succeed and has leant his energy and talents to many Council activities. As Council Secretary, Ed has been a true leader who has helped in all aspects of Council work. He has helped to draft policies, promoted local food initiatives, facilitated partnerships with underserved groups, and strongly supported renewable energy projects. Finally, he deserves much of the credit for the Council’s successful application for the Circle of Diamonds in 2008 and its promotion to enhanced level membership this January. Ed’s enthusiasm for the RC&D Program has also led him to various state, regional, and national RC&D roles, and he is currently Treasurer of the National Association.
